The government of Kuwait has decided to end the visa ban on the Philippines. for the past year, Kuwait had stopped issuing visas to the Philippines. according to the new statement, all types of visas will now be issued to the Philippines.
A joint committee comprising representatives from both Kuwait and the Philippines has been established to address employment-related issues.
According to data up to 2020, 241,000 Filipinos were working in Kuwait. Most of these Filipinos were employed as domestic workers. Kuwait had been a favorable market for the Philippines until a Filipino domestic worker was killed by a Kuwaiti in 2020.
This tragic incident caused a crisis between the Philippines and Kuwait, leading the Philippine government to impose a ban on its nationals from going to Kuwait for work.

A pregnant woman was killed by a 17-year-old Kuwaiti, who was subsequently arrested and sentenced to 16 years in prison due to his minor status.
