The US president Joe Biden is going to give legal status to illegal or undocumented spouses of American citizens, according to financial times the move will be announced on Tuesday by the president.
There are 500,000 undocumented spouses of American citizens, the new regulations will allow them to apply for permanent residency without leaving the country and get green card.
According to the US law to get permanent residency in US by marriage a person need to apply for finance or marriage visa and after that they can apply for green card.
Till yet the undocumented immigrants wasn’t able to get a legal marriage status in US through which they can apply for permanent residency in the US.
US immigration regulations
The US government currently dealing with new immigration crisis as the result of increase in the number of illegal immigrants from Mexico the president halt asylum in the US Mexico border.
The US government was ok to deal with 1000 immigrants daily from mexican border but in the week’s 2500 migrants cross border per day.
President Biden will allow the asylum process when the number of immigrants in US Mexico border reduces to 1000 per day.
